The LIVE Art & Word Contest began in 2020 to help to break the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. Originally, the contest was a way to engage high school students across the U.P. at a time when there were many restrictions. Over the years, adults have asked to be part of the contest, as well. With the inception of LIVE@NMU in the fall of 2022 and their need to hold an annual fundraiser the LIVE Art & Word Contest for adults was created.
Are you under 18 but want to participate? Or would you just like to see the amazing talent of our kids in the UP? Check out the LIVE Art And Youth Contest – Youth webpage.
The LIVE Art & Word Contest for Adults is open to all high school students across the U.P. Please carefully read the LIVE Art & Word Rules and Guidelines before submitting your entry.
The LIVE Art & Word (Adult) Contest is coordinated by LIVE@NMU. Sponsorships for the LIVE Art & Word (Adult) Contest will not only allow for cash prizes, it will also help support and sustain LIVE@NMU, bringing suicide awareness to NMU’s campus, engaging students in suicide prevention activities and teaching students how to LOVE (yourself), INCLUDE (others), VALUE (life) and ENGAGE (community).
If interested in sponsoring this contest, please fill out a 2023 Adult Art & Word Sponsorship Form and return it to Great Lakes Recovery Centers, Atten: WESP, 97 S. Fourth Street, Ishpeming, MI 49849.
